F.R.O.G., which stands for “Forever Relying on God,” makes a statement while remaining a simple name that is easy to remember. Founder Dawn Clark began F.R.O.G. Ministries outside in New Smyrna Beach with tables and tents. Her husband, Chip, would assist her with the two-hour-long process of setting up and breaking down. During the hot summer months, the fellowship would be hard, but very fulfilling, she said.

Driving down West Canal Street, Clark would look at the vacant building on the 700 block and long for F.R.O.G. Ministries to take up residence there. A local family was generous enough to donate money each month, and Dawn Clark’s dream became a reality. Now a 501(c)(3) Non-profit Charitable Organization, F.R.O.G. operates through tax-deductible donations. Within three days, F.R.O.G. Ministries was up and running in their new location.

“F.R.O.G. Ministries was well received by neighbors,” Clark said. On a typical day, she noted that about 30 people will come through the doors. A free dinner is offered each Saturday night at F.R.O.G. Ministries beginning at 6 p.m. and continuing until 8 p.m. F.R.O.G. Ministries offers several other programs and groups including “Spiritual Tadpoles” which is represented by the youth of F.R.O.G.

All testimonies collected had a personal touch. Assistant Manager Tammy Corriveau explained upon arriving in NSB, she and her fiancée were robbed of all of their possessions. Tammy found Dawn Clark sitting in a tent and at a time when the travelers had no assistance, Dawn gave them the essentials.

“She provided us with a tent, sleeping bags, pillows and even food,” Tammy exclaimed. The following Saturday, Tammy joined the F.R.O.G. Ministries team and said the help provided is “for real.”

Dixie Herrera said she has been coming to F.R.O.G. since day one.

“Dawn is so polite and willing to help everyone,” Dixie said.

Kevin Payne said he “is really excited. This is a wonderful place. Everyone is so sweet and God really did make wonderful people who offer their time and run this.”

Terry Ivey said “I like this place very much. I think that Dawn is a great person.”

Through the donations to F.R.O.G. Ministries, Terry was able to get a much needed stroller. Chris came to F.R.O.G. two weeks ago from Kissimee when he was robbed twice. He came to an event on Canal Street where he met Dawn Clark. At F.R.O.G. Ministries, he was able to get clothes and other necessities and says that “in NSB, this is a terrific Godsend.”

Danny Millicovich was a visitor and is now a volunteer. He added, “My feeling is that it is good for people and the community because they really help people and consider their needs.”

There was a time when he needed help and now feels as though he “can turn around and help others faced with challenges.”
